Collection and Use of Personal Information
- When you sign up to use the Services, you voluntarily give Digital Thread certain information. This can include your name, the email or phone number you used to subscribe to the Services, and any other information you may provide.
Additionally, Digital Thread may collect and use the following information obtained via Website or the Services: - If you apply for a job at Digital Thread, you may provide Digital Thread with certain information about yourself, including but not limited to the information contained on a resume, cover letter, or similar employment-related materials. Digital Thread uses this information for the purpose of processing and responding to your application for current and future career opportunities.
- If you contact Digital Thread with a question, comment, or complaint, then Digital Thread may collect your name and contact information, including but not limited to your email address or mailing address, in order to respond to your request. Digital Thread may also keep a record of the correspondence in order to assist you again in the future.
- If you request a free trial or a demo, download content, or register for a webinar, then Digital Thread collects information, including but not limited to your name, job title, email address, and certain information about your company. Digital Thread uses this information to contact you and otherwise facilitate your free trial, demo, participation in the webinar, or discuss the downloaded content, as applicable.
- If you participate in a message board, community forum, chat room, or similar community, Digital Thread may collect information, including but not limited to your name and email address, as well as any comments, suggestions, and other feedback you provide as postings. Digital Thread may use your comments, suggestions, or feedback to monitor and/or improve the Services and/or Website. Please remember that any information that you provide in these comment areas is accessible to the public, and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose any Personal Information about yourself or anyone else.
- If you enter a contest or promotion sponsored by Digital Thread or participate in one of its surveys or other forms of research, then Digital Thread may ask you for information, including but not limited to your name and email address. The information Digital Thread collects from these contests, promotions, and surveys may be associated with individual client accounts and used by Digital Thread to facilitate your participation in the contest, promotion, survey, or research and to help improve the Services and/or Website.
- If you sign up to receive emails from Digital Thread, or if you have provided your contact information to Digital Thread for any of the above reasons, then Digital Thread may also send you mail or emails regarding the Services or any additional products or services that Digital Thread believes is of interest to you. If you do not want to receive such mailings from Digital Thread, at any time you may simply use the unsubscribe mechanism in any of Digital Thread’s emails.
- It is important to note that while you can generally visit Website without telling Digital Thread who you are or submitting any Personal Information, Digital Thread does create and record certain technical information automatically. Consent
- Depending on the situation, Digital Thread may obtain consent to the collection of Personal Information in different ways. Express consent may be obtained verbally, online, or in writing. Implied consent may be obtained through your use of Website or the Services, or when you approach Digital Thread to obtain information, inquire about, or request the Services. Digital Thread will indicate when your consent is a condition of obtaining the Services.
Transfers and Disclosures of Personal Information
- As a matter of practice, Digital Thread does not disclose, trade, rent, sell, or otherwise transfer Personal Information provided to it, except as set out in the Policy and, in the case of information provided to it via the Services, as provided in the Agreement between Digital Thread and its clients. With respect to both the Services and Website, the following applies:
- Service Providers: Digital Thread currently does not share Personal Information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your permission. Digital Thread may disclose or transfer Personal Information to its partners, consultants, and suppliers (collectively, "Service Providers") that provide services on its behalf; however, the Service Providers are only given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and Digital Thread does not authorize them to use or disclose Personal Information for their own purposes.
- Sale of Business: Digital Thread may disclose or transfer Personal Information to a third party in the event of a proposed or actual purchase, sale, including a liquidation, realization, foreclosure or repossession, lease, merger, amalgamation, or any other type of acquisition, disposal, transfer, conveyance, or financing of all or any portion of Digital Thread, or of any of the business or assets or shares of Digital Thread.
- Legal Obligations: Digital Thread and the Service Providers may provide Personal Information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law. Digital Thread may also disclose Personal Information where necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims and to investigate or prevent actual or suspect loss or harm to persons, data, or property. Digital Thread will attempt to notify you about legal demands for your Personal Information when appropriate in Digital Thread’s judgment, unless prohibited by law or court order, or when the request is an emergency.
Safeguarding
- Digital Thread understands that data security is an important issue and Digital Thread is committed to safeguarding the Personal Information provided to it. Digital Thread regularly monitors its systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks; however, Digital Thread cannot warrant the security of any Personal Information you share with it. There is no guarantee that your Personal Information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of Digital Thread’s physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
Retention
- Digital Thread retains the Personal Information that is provided to it for such periods as it believes is useful, or as may be required by contract, including in the Agreement, by law, or by regulation. In some cases, Digital Thread may choose to retain certain Personal Information in a depersonalized or aggregated form.
Storage
- Personal Information provided to Digital Thread by way of the Services is stored in the United States; however, in the course of providing the Services, it may be transferred to and processed by staff or the Service Providers operating in Canada. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, order fulfillment, payment processing, and the provision of professional and support services.
Website and other Personal Information that Digital Thread collects via Website or other means may be transferred to, stored, and processed at various locations around the world, by staff who work for Digital Thread or for one of the Service Providers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, providing demos, managing contests or other promotions, and making hiring decisions on behalf of Digital Thread.
Accuracy and Access
- Digital Thread gives you many choices about the collection, use, and sharing of your Personal Information, including but not limited to advertising opt-outs and communication controls. If you submit Personal Information via Website or otherwise provide Digital Thread with your Personal Information, you may request access, the updating, or the correction of your Personal Information by submitting a written request and satisfactory identification to support@digitalthreadtech.com. Please note that you cannot opt-out of receiving service messages from Digital Thread, including security and legal notices.
Policy Changes
- The Policy was last updated on October 25, 2017.
The Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to Digital Thread’s Personal Information practices. The revised Policy will be posted on Website.
